The Art of Racing in the Rain: A Novel

:

A 'pass-it-on' book (2010-07-30) : 5/5
I'm not one to talk religion or politics or write book reviews because everyone has their own opinions and I probably cannot change them. This book, however, begs me to tell you to read it. I'll admit I am a dog lover and race car dummy. This book could have been told through anyone's eyes and told through any metaphor. Enzo is perfection in the telling of this story and his use of racing metaphors works for even the non-lover of racing. He tells it so you get it.

Enzo is loving, intelligent and wise. He listens unlike, as he says, humans. That's what makes him so wise. It also makes him intelligent because he learns from what he hears. His purpose in life is to please his owner and to come back as a good human - there's the loving. Most of those in his life don't realize how lucky they are to have him; those who do depend on him. Enzo will take you through his life with laughter, tears and thought. He sees things we know are there but refuse to acknowledge.

This is definitely a must-read book, not once but many times. And pass it on. Faster.

One of the best books i've ever read! (2010-07-29) : 5/5
I read this book a while ago, and I was intrigued about the dog being the narrator of the book. I don't think anything could make this book any better than it is. Enzo makes you wonder what goes through your own dogs mind. This book is laugh out loud funny, while being compassionate and real. Possibly one of the best books I've ever read. A fantastic piece of literature, to say the least!

Poignant (2010-07-28) : 5/5
This book is so poignant, and one that has influenced how I perceive both dogs and the world. The ending is incredibly beautiful...strongly recommend!

Moving and very enjoyable (2010-07-28) : 5/5
What a well written great book. Happy and sad ....keep a box of tissues close at hand!

Wonderful story (2010-07-26) : 5/5
This book is wonderful. I have no interest in racing and don't even have a dog but this book was incredible.
